What about taking a few days to explore the area?  Sudbury is only a few miles from medieval Lavenham, ‘Constable Country’ and the lovely market town of Bury St Edmunds with its abbey ruins and beautiful gardens.  Long Melford too, is just a couple of miles up the road, with plenty of antiques shops to browse and two historic houses, Kentwell Hall and Melford Hall (National Trust) which open again later in the year.  Stay in an historic cottage and explore the area at your leisure!
