Skylarks in Suffolk

Named after the birds whose song fills the air as they fly above the wild flower meadows which surround it, Skylarks is a stunning cottage in Suffolk and a new addition to the Grove Cottages collection of romantic cottages.

It’s a beautiful light and airy cottage and is nestled deep in the Suffolk countryside, yet just three miles from Stowmarket in the Heart of Suffolk and well positioned for day trips to Bury St Edmunds, Lavenham or the coast. A great choice then, for a shortbreak and an escape from the hectic pace of everyday life, even if just for a few days.

Skylarks has been built to reflect the landscape which surrounds it; three acres of wild flower meadow, acres of farmland and miles of quiet country lanes have defined the design of this cottage and a huge patio door allows the house and garden to flow as one space.

Bikes are supplied for exploring the country lanes and a BBQ is provided for enjoying a summer feast either on the generously-sized patio, or at the picnic table on the edge of the wild flower meadow.

Although Skylarks sleeps four people, it is conveniently joined via a small hallway, to Little Cote. This hallway is normally sealed off (used as a utility room for Skylarks), but can be opened up if a group of up to nine people want to holiday together and dogs are welcome too.

Owners Steve and Cherry are landscape gardeners and have planted wild flower meadows and beautiful gardens for visitors to Little Cote and Skylarks. Meandering, exploring and bird-watching are all encouraged in this little oasis in the heart of the Suffolk countryside.
