Did you know you can go skiing in Suffolk? The Suffolk Ski & Leisure Park on the outskirts of Ipswich has an outdoor (snowless) slope of 180 metres long with a contoured ‘red’ run and a more gentle ‘blue’ run as well as a junior slope of 40 metres, which can be used throughout the year.
Beginners and more experienced skiers and snow boarders can use this facility and you can take lessons to learn to ski, snow board and toboggan. It’s great fun, especially for children and they cater for children’s parties too and they host children’s acitvity days during the holidays.
You can even learn to climb there: ropes, a wall, a wobbly bridge and more.
There’s a rather nice looking restaurant called The Lodge, which has an a la carte menu and one for light lunches, sandwiches and Sunday lunch.
Active Snowsports, the ski and snowboard store, sells ski and sports wear and even luggage for your next skiing holiday.
Right next door to the ski centre is the Ipswich Golf Driving Range with 12 fully covered bays and floodlighting means you can go along for evening drives too. It operates on a simple ‘arrive and drive’ basis and is ideal for beginners as well as professionals who want a bit of extra practice.
There’s also a putting green and mini golf course and golf tuition is available.
