Woodbridge Suffolk IP12 1BY

A beautiful little town on the River Deben with many independent retailers, some great antiques shops, a good choice of places to eat and the main square is very pretty.

Still a working mill that’s been operating for hundreds of years, Woodbridge’s Tide Mill is the centre piece of the quay and marina and a very interesting place to visit. Alongside the lovely River Walk, not only can you see the mill in operation, but there are also lots of events throughout the season, which runs from Easter to end of October. Please check the website for opening times before you visit.

It is always a pleasure to check out the many historic boats that come up to Woodbridge Marina, which is navigable from the sea.

On the opposite bank of the river is the mystical Anglo Saxon royal burial site Sutton Hoo with its 7th century burial mounds and museum, which showcases a replica of the famous Sutton Hoo mask and treasure, along with a fascinating exhibition.
