Melford Hall | Long Melford

Long Melford Sudbury Suffolk CO10 9AA

01787 379228

The home of the Hyde Parker family, Melford Hall is run by the National Trust but has a colourful history, once owned by the Abbots of St Edmundsbury, and hosting a visit by Elizabeth I.

Beatrix Potter was a cousin to the Hyde Parkers and was a regular visit to Melford Hall – you can view sketches from her much-loved animal characters including Jemima Puddleduck whose duck pond was based upon an illustration drawn whilst she was at Melford.

Melford Hall is also the home of LeeStock, a popular music festival held in midsummer in memory of a local musician.
