Wyken Vineyards | Bury St. Edmunds

Wyken Vineyard Stanton Bury St Edmunds Suffolk IP31 2DW

01359 250287

Wyken Vineyards is a great place to visit if you are anywhere nearby as there’s loads to see and do. It has an excellent Farmers Market, a stylish Interiors shop, a wonderful Garden and an outstanding restaurant, made all the better by serving its own excellent award winning wines.

The Leaping Hare is located in the 400-year-old barn. A Bib Gourmand in the Michelin Guide and now in its 15th year in The Good Food Guide, the restaurant serves meat and game.

Where possible ingredients are sourced from a five-mile radius, so beef and lamb are local (and often from Wyken farm.) Wild game (venison, pheasant, partridge, rabbit and pigeon) come from the estate and fruit, herbs and vegetables from the kitchen garden.

Wyken Shop

‘A model of what a shop should be.’ according to Country Living magazine.

Wool throws and blankets from Scotland, braided rugs from North Carolina, design-led crafts and pottery from England, French grape-picking baskets, seasonless clothes in linens and wool, Austrian jackets for men, Panama hats from Ecuador…. just some of the mix of unpredictable treasures.

Farmers Market

The Market is open from 9am to 1pm every Saturday.

Formal gardens crammed with topiary, herbs, roses, box, fruit trees, meandering peacocks, guinea fowl and chickens snuggle up to the Elizabethan manor house, with head-high yew hedges serving as windbreaks, essential in East Anglia, a region renowned for its ‘lazy winds’.

Starred in the Good Gardens Guide and featured in Gardens Illustrated, The English Garden and Country Life, the garden at Wyken has evolved over thirty years.

Open from 27th March until the end of September, 2pm until 6pm everyday except Saturday.
